What Bible verse is good for a Christmas card?

Isaiah 9:6 and Luke 2:14 are the two that fit a card and carry the whole message. Quote them from the King James Version, which is in the public domain, and name the reference.

Can you use a Bible verse in a Christmas card you sell or print?

From the King James Version, yes — it is out of copyright. Modern translations are not, and printing them at any scale needs the publisher’s permission.

What do you write in a religious Christmas card for a non-religious friend?

Write the warm version rather than the scriptural one. "Wishing you a peaceful Christmas" carries your tone without putting them in a position.
