Occasion HandbookAbout

What this site is

A reference for the social obligations nobody teaches you, written to be used in a hurry.

Who writes it

Occasion Handbook is published as a publication, not under a personal byline. Nobody here claims to be a funeral director, a celebrant, or an etiquette authority, and no page on this site will ever tell you it was reviewed by one unless that is literally true.

Where the wording comes from

Every example message, template and sample on this site was written for it. Other sites' message lists are their own work and none of them was copied or reworded. Where genuinely public-domain text appears — traditional marriage liturgy, for instance — it is labelled as such on the page it appears on.

What this site sells

Nothing. There are no adverts, no affiliate links, no sponsored placements and no shop. When a page tells you a plain dark jumper is fine, there is no product behind the advice.
