The dress code is identical. The practical problem is finding something dark and covered at short notice that you can sit, stand and hug people in.

- A dark jersey dress with sleeves, knee length or longer, with a layer if the neckline is low.

- Jersey or ponte over stiff woven fabric — you will be sitting, standing and embracing people all day.
- Shoes
- Flat and already worn in. There is more standing at a funeral than people expect.
